Steve Ellery is the owner and director of Franklin Physiotherapy, and the practice’s principal physiotherapist.
Steve holds a Masters in Clinical Health Practice (Distinction), Post Graduate Diploma in Sports & Exercise Science, Bachelor of Heath Science (Physiotherapy), and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours). In addition to his work in private practice, he is extensively involved in teaching physiotherapy at the Auckland University of Technology, and providing clinical supervision for physiotherapists training for their post-graduate qualifications. This involvement in tertiary and postgraduate training guarantees the clients' of Franklin Physiotherapy receive the highest quality of physiotherapy knowledge and care.
As part of his role at AUT, Steve also teaches musculoskeletal physiotherapy to students enrolled in the Under-Graduate Physiotherapy Programme.
Steve has worked with a wide range of injured populations in his clinical practice, and has a particular interest in sports injuries and biomechanics, sport specific conditioning programmes, and lower back pain.
Steve is a fully qualified and registered manipulative therapist with the New Zealand Manipulative Therapists Association, and is also member of a range of professional bodies including the New Zealand Society of Physiotherapy, New Zealand College of Physiotherapy, Sports Medicine New Zealand, Sports Physiotherapy New Zealand, and the Pain Society of New Zealand.
